When the heck did I become a moderate?

Your Political Profile:
Overall: 45% Conservative, 55% Liberal
Social Issues: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal
Personal Responsibility: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
Fiscal Issues: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal
Ethics: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal
Defense and Crime: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal

I've always been extremely liberal. To become a moderate, at least according to this little quiz, is very odd for me.

Nationally, Catholics tend to be the swing voters that make or break a majority for either party. Made Clinton, broke Kerry, made Bush.

I've noticed you've become less Liberal since you decided to become Catholic.

Well, I suppose it comes with the Creed...
In a more serious tone, every Catholic should be a true Conservative AND a true Liberal.
We are Conservatives in the sense of St Paul: "Proove everything, and keep what is good" (or so, translated from German), which means we should not keep old things for the sake of being old, but of being good.
On the other hand, we should be true Liberals, because as we know the truth, we can tolerate dissenting opinions - eventually, truth always prevails.
What we are NOT is Relativists (cf. Pope Benedict's remarks): there are no several truths, but only one truth. That's why we have a Creed: because we really believe that some things are more true than others.

This quiz seems to be going around, and many participants report some level of surprise at the results, which make me wonder how accurate it really is.

Because, you know, all those other bloggy quizzes on politics are so scientific,

What's a little odd to me is that you're still liberal in the ethics cattegory... and Catholic. Although, it's hard to know which questions were part of that.

HHmm......
BTW, I'm surprised to see that you think it's the government's responsibility to provide financially for people, or take more from some people because they have more. They do that in communist countries, I know.

(Ooh.... I'm gonna catch if for this one, aren't I?!.. just know that I can agree to disagree.;o)

I'm glad someone is taking responsibility for making Bush. Now we know who to blame.
